    Vinyl acetate is a kind of widely used basic organic chemical raw materials, mainly for the production of polyvinyl alcohol resin, EVA resin, EVOH resin, polyvinyl butyral resin, synthetic fiber, VAE emulsion and VAC emulsion, etc., its single poly and the copolymer adhesive can produce a variety of purposes. Vinyl acetate is widely used in the textile, coating, adhesive, film, medicine, organic synthesis, fine chemical industry, daily chemical industry.

    The physical and chemical properties

    Vinyl acetate is a colorless transparent liquid with a sweet smell of ether; slightly soluble in water, soluble in alcohol, acetone, benzene, chloroform and a variety of organic solvents. Vinyl acetate relative density (water = 1) 0.93, boiling point of 71.8°C, flash point -8°C, the freezing point of -93°C spontaneous combustion point of 427°C, its vapor and air can form explosive mixtures, air explosion limit 2.6-13.4% (volume). In case of fire, high-heat combustion it can cause the explosion.

    vinyl acetate has active chemical properties, it react with a halogen, hydrogen halides, halogenated hydrocarbons, phenols, ammonia, mercaptans, hydrogen cyanide, amines, etc.; rapid hydrolysis make acetate and acetaldehyde when react with inorganic acid, salt, alkali ; polymerization reaction in the heat, light, or trace peroxide, an azo, even if vinyl acetate contain inhibitor will have violent polymerization reaction reacting with peroxide; occur binary, ternary and multi-copolymer with vinyl chloride,acid, crotonic acid, maleic acid and other unsaturated acids; reaction to produce acetic anhydride and acetic acid in sulfuric acid under acylation reaction and secondary alcohols in alkaline medium and it can react with oxidants.
